
Will fill-up teachers' vacancies expeditiously: WB Education Minister

The West-Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu said on Tuesday that the state will the vacant posts of teachers expeditiously.
West Bengal Minister of School and Higher Education Bratya Basu, on Tuesday, said in the state assembly that the state’s school education department is going to fill up all the teachers’ vacancies in a swift manner. He further stated that the state government gives importance to providing quality education to children in state-run and government-aided schools. The education minister’s comments came during a question-answer hour in the state assembly.
“We give importance to imparting quality education to children in state-run and aided schools. Our students are making us proud with their achievements in the country,” said the minister in the state assembly.
He further added, “So, while recruiting, we exercise caution so that there is no compromise on the quality front.”
The school education department is taking every single step to “fill up all vacant posts of teachers in the state-run and aided schools in an expeditious manner,” as per the instructions of the chief minister.
The education minister added that the authorities would use the department's portal to see if meritorious students are assigned to schools near their homes or inside the district.
