Wife's suspected extra-marital affair led to Ahmedabad quadruple murder, reveals police

According to police, a suspected extra-marital affair led to the murder of four people, including a woman and her two children. The accused husband was arrested within 48 hours of the murder.
On Tuesday, the bodies of Sonal Marathi, 37, her children Pragati and Ganesh and Sonal's paternal grandmother, Subhadra, were found in a locked house in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. The investigation has now revealed the chilling details of the murder.
According to police, frustrated and depressed over his wife's suspected extra-marital affair, the accused Vinod murdered his wife, two children and grandmother. The accused also told police officials that he feared what would happen to his children after his wife's death and he went to jail after the murder. He then decided to murder both his children. Vinod was arrested near the Madhya Pradesh border.

Ahmedabad crime branch ACP DP Chudasama said, "We have arrested Vinod for the murder of his wife Sonal, two children Pragati and Ganesh and his grandmother Subhadra. The accused had pre-planned the murder of his wife as she had been having extra-marital affairs with someone for the last two years. The accused also told us that once his son Ganesh had caught his wife with the same person and that was the day he decided to murder his wife."
"After committing the murder the accused had decided to kill the person with whom his wife had an affair, but he was afraid that if he came to Ahmedabad he would be caught. He escaped from Surat to Indore. At the border, our team nabbed him," the ACP added.

On the day of the murder, accused Vinod first told his son Ganesh to rush to the shop. When both his son and daughter left, Vinod asked his wife Sonal to come to the bedroom. Vinod told Sonal that he wanted to give her a surprise and for that she needed to be blindfolded.
