India captain Rohit Sharma admitted that he is unfazed by the team's struggles against left-arm pacers.
India captain Rohit Sharma has said that he doesn't see the Indian team's struggles against left-arm pace as a major concern ahead of the third T20I on Tuesday.
India's struggles against left-arm pacers have been well-documented as they have been knocked over by the likes of Trent Boult, Mohammed Amir and Shaheen Shah Afridi in major ICC tournaments over the past few years.
More recently, England bowler Reece Topley wreaked havoc on the Indian team during the second ODI of the series as he picked up six wickets. He also picked up three top order wickets in the third game as well.
During the second T20I on Monday, it was Obed McCoy who was the latest left-arm pacer who found a lot of success against the Indian batting order.
McCoy registered career best figures of 6 for 17 in his four overs to restrict India to 138.
Speaking after the third T20I toss, which India won and chose to field first, Sharma said that he is unfazed by the team's struggle against left-arm pacers. The India captain said that they want to improve on all aspects of the game and doesn't see the struggle against left-arm pace as a major concern.
"I don't know about that. We want to improve in all aspects of the game. But last two series, the left-arm seamers have really done well. But I don't see it as a concern. There will be bowlers bowling at you, and if you are looking to play shots, you can get out," said Sharma.
