Opposition MPs didn't take part in the Tiranga rally from Red Fort to Vijay Chowk near Parliament today.
When asked what the Congress had to say about not taking part in the Tiranga rally, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said, “Who is the real patriot we all know. The newspaper that played a major role during the Independence War is being targeted. They are celebrating their events. Why should we accept the BJP’s political agenda?”
“They have finished khadi, flags are coming from China. They have changed the flag code. They are keeping the government as a signboard for their political activities,” added Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary.
In a conversation with India Today TV, AICC media department head Pawan Khera spoke about Congress not taking part in the Tiranga rally.
“There is no difference between the BJP and the Central government. For the BJP government, this is just an event. For us, this is our passion and our commitment. The PM needs to worry at the kind of gap that has emerged between the government and the Opposition. We would also request the PM to persuade Mohan Bhagwat and the RSS to at least put the Tiranga in their DPs."
Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi tweeted a photo of the first prime minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru.
In his tweet, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Our Tricolour is the pride of our country, our Tricolour is in the heart of every Indian.”
