Before all the Queen talk took over Bollywood, Rani Mukerji was considered the OG Queen of Hindi cinema, and the top-actress throne belonged to her. She had earned it and kept it through years of sustained performances. Think Black or Hey Ram or Saathiya or even Yuva and you'd know. In fact, there isn't a role that Rani can't pull off. If she stole your heart as Babli in Bunty Aur Bubli, she made your eyes well up as Michelle McNally in Black, both released in 2005. And then there was the Mardaani franchise, which gave us a female action star, a space Rekha once ruled with Khoon Bhari Mang but was later left vacant. But sandwiched between Mardaani 1 and 2, was a soft, vastly different film, Hichki, again headlined by Rani Mukerji.
