Why Kabir Khan owes Kabul Express to Amitabh Bachchan. On Tuesday Trivia
India Today
It was the 'Amitabh Bachchan' and 'Hindustan' connect that got Kabul Express director Kabir Khan out of a sticky situation, and thus the film got made.
The story of how Kabir Khan's directorial debut, Kabul Express got made demands a separate film - a prequel, if you may. Starring John Abraham and Arshad Warsi in the lead, Kabul Express, released on December 15, 2006, is the first film that was extensively shot in Afghanistan after the Taliban rule ended in 2001. Though many discouraged Kabir Khan, he was adamant and wanted to shoot the film in Kabul in a way to keep it 'authentic'. Result? Death threats, encounters with mujahidin, and coming to the realisation that Kabul had "more guns than mobile phones", as admitted by Arshad back in an interview. But did you know that everything could have just fallen flat if it wasn't for superstar Amitabh Bachchan?More Related News
