
Why do 633 Medial students get admission after deadline? SC asks Karnataka

Supreme Court has asked Karnataka Medical Education Secretary's an explanation for giving admission to 633 MDS students after the deadline.
Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Karnataka medical education secretary to explain why the deadline for admissions was breached for 633 Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) students. A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna said, "We direct the Secretary, Medical Education, of the state government to file an affidavit explaining the circumstances in which the state of Karnataka breached the deadline of November 20, 2021".
The top court said that an affidavit by the secretary shall be filed within a period of one week. It also asked the Centre and the Dental Council of India to also file their affidavits in the meantime.
