Why CBI has not taken over death case of Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta yet

Source said CBI is yet to receive notification from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), which is required by the CBI to register an FIR.

The Central Bureau of Investigation is yet to take over the probe from the Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with the death case of Kanpur-based businessman Manish Gupta, who allegedly died during a police raid at a hotel in Gorakhpur.

Sources have told India Today that the federal probe agency is yet to receive notification from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) which is required by the CBI to register an FIR.
