The 78-year-old woman who has willed all her property to Rahul Gandhi, including fixed deposits and jewelry worth over Rs 50 lakh, has been living at an old age home for the past 23 years. Pushpa Munjial, who worked as a teacher until her retirement, said that Rahul Gandhi and his ideas are necessary for the country and that she is extremely influenced by his thoughts. Hence, her decision.
She has legally registered the will and handed over the papers to Congress leader Pritam Singh, making Rahul Gandhi the legal heir of her assets after her death.
Munjial has been living at Prem Dham, an old age home in Dehradun, since the late 1990s. Her parents died a long time back. One of her brothers died of cancer and she only has a sister now, who has no objection to her will, Munjial told India Today TV.
“Rahul Gandhi is very simple and straightforward. People bother him unnecessarily. He is very naive,” Munjiyal told India Today TV. “I am influenced by him.”
“The 10 tolas of gold should be presented to Rahul Gandhi’s wife once he gets married,” she said.
The septuagenarian said that Rahul Gandhi’s family has made immense sacrifices for the country; be it Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi or Jawaharlal Nehru or Sonia Gandhi. “I consider him as my son,” she said.
