White Pearl stuns the field to win the HPSL Golconda Oaks
The 20-to-1 long shot White Pearl, ridden by Mukesh Kumar, won the HPSL Golconda Oaks (Gr. 2), the main attraction of Sunday’s (Jan. 5) races here. The winner is owned by M.A.M. Ramaswamy Chettiar Of Chettinad Charitable Trust and trained by K. Satheesh.
Mukesh positioned his mount in fourth place for most of the race. As they approached the home stretch, this daughter by Sedgefield out of Grey Mist surged ahead on the outside, displaying impressive speed to defeat the first favourite, Maigira.
