Rumours of BJP joining hands with Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena got ignited after Mumbai BJP president Chandrakant Patil called met with Raj at his residence. 

The speculation over BJP joining hands with Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena gained momentum after the state BJP President Chandrakant Patil called on Raj, at his residence. After the meeting, Patil threw broad hints at a possible alliance on the lines of Hindutva. There has been speculation for some time in political circles about Raj Thackeray joining hands with BJP after Shivsena broke ties with the BJP. The two leaders had earlier met in Nashik last month.
