Hours before his demise on Friday, Shane Warne had taken to social media to console the death of another Australian legend Rod Marsh who passed away on Thursday.
13 hours before Shane Warne breathed his last, the legendary Australian spinner had consoled the demise of another Australian legend, Rod Marsh. The cricket fraternity was hit hard by the demise of two legendary sporting heroes, Warne and Marsh in a span of less than 24 hours.
While Rod Marsh suffered a heart attack in Queensland last week and was in an induced coma at Royal Adelaide Hospital until his death, Warne passed away on Friday, March 4 due to a suspected heart attack at a Thailand villa. His family, said in a statement, that doctors unsuccessfully tried to revive him at the villa.
Warne was saddened by the death of Rod Marsh, who played 96 Tests for his country, scoring three Test centuries and famously claiming a then-world record of 355 dismissals for a wicketkeeper behind the stumps.
"Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate," Warne wrote in s social media post.

Warne even posted from his villa on Thursday evening as he seemed to enjoy the view of the moonlight from his stay in Thailand.
Notably, Warne had been hospitalized after suffering from Covid-19 last year. In his last Instagram post, Warne said he had set a target of getting fit and set July 2022 as his deadline, saying "operation shred" had started.
