WhatsApp for iOS users can now play voice notes outside the chat

The iPhone and iPad users will now be able to play the voice notes on WhatsApp even outside a chat.
WhatsApp has rolled out an interesting update for iOS users. The iPhone and iPad users will now be able to play voice notes on WhatsApp even outside a chat. This means that if you are listening to a voice note, it will not stop when you move to a different chat. Previously, moving to a different chat while listening to a voice note would abruptly stop playing the voice note. WhatsApp was spotted testing the same feature on the desktop versions of the app.
The much-hyped global voice player has been rolled out on iOS. The iPhone as well as the iPad users will be able to play the voice notes and audio files even outside the chats. To get the new feature, users will have to update their phone to the latest WhatsApp for iOS v22.4.75 version. This feature would make it simpler for users to reply to different chat while still listening to the voice note. Android, as well as web users, are yet to get this feature. WhatsApp has not shared when it plans to launch the device. However, now that iOS users already have the feature. Android users will also get it shortly.
When you listen to a voice note outside a chat, the voice note appears on the top of the chat window. You also get the option of pausing the voice note while replying to another text. There is also a cross sign provided on the top right, which will let you remove the voice note from the chat window once you are done listening to the voice note.
WhatsApp has been testing the feature for quite some time now. In fact, WhatsApp was also testing the feature on the web version of the app. In the web version, the audio player will appear at the bottom. Previously, WhatsApp had rolled out the ability to pause and resume voice notes. This allows users to pause the voice note while recording and then resume the recording again. The earlier setup required users to record the voice message at one go.
On a related note, WhatsApp was also spotted working on a Facebook-like cover photo. The feature would allow users to set covers on WhatsApp profiles. The feature is being designed for business accounts. The feature is expected to enhance the WhatsApp catalog. As per Wabetainfo, WhatsApp users will soon get the feature to set cover photos for their profiles. However, this feature will only be limited to the WhatsApp Business accounts. It will not be possible for standard user accounts. The report says that the feature is enabled for beta testers, and there will be some changes in your business profile settings.
