Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level review meeting over Naxal ambush in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur. Amit Shah directed the security agencies intensify Operation Prahar and give a befitting reply to the Naxals.
Twenty-two jawans lost their lives after they were ambushed by the Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur on Saturday during a combing operation. Following the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday called a high-level meeting in which a roadmap was prepared for a major action against the Naxals. According to exclusive information gathered by Aaj Tak, the PLGA battalion number-1, which is a strong guerrilla force, of the Naxals in the Dandakaranya Special Zone Committee region for several years. It has been working to weaken the democratic set of the country. A joint-force of the DRG (District Reserve Guard), STF (Special Task Force), CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) and CRPF’s special CoBRA commandos is running the security operations in the Bastar region to counter the Maoist (as the Naxals are called for being members of banned outfit, the Communist Party of India-Maoist) insurgents.
