Here are some expert tips about what travelers should do when flights are delayed or canceled.

(CNN) — It has been a tough slog for some air travelers ever since the winter holidays rush.

Between the spike Omicron variant cases causing staffing shortages and bad winter weather, airlines have been canceling and delaying thousands of flights since December 23.

This weekend, blame it on the weather -- a massive winter storm thrashing the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
