Vijay Deverakonda said that this film with Sukumar will go on the floor after the director wraps up Pushpa The Rule.
Vijay Deverakaonda had some time ago announced that he would be teaming up with director Sukumar for a film, which created a buzz in the industry. The movie, however, is yet to go on the floors. Vijay has now shared an update about his film with Sukumar. In an interview, he said that the flick is indeed happening. He, however, added that it will take a while for it to start rolling.
Vijay Deverakonda, who is gearing up for the release of Liger, has shared an update about the status of his movie with Sukumar, Speaking to Pinkvilla, he revealed that the flick will go on the floors once the director wraps up Pushpa: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun.
"Sukumar Sir has to finish Pushpa 2, post that we will start on our film," he said.
Going by his comments, the film is likely to hit the screens in 2023, as was the original plan.
Vijay Deverakonda is set to make his Bollywood debut with the Hindi-Telugu bilingual Liger. The sports drama is slated to open in theatres on August 25. The Puri Jagannadh-helmed movie features him in the role of an underdog who makes it big in the world of combat sports. Ananya Panday, who was last seen in the Shakun Batra-directed romantic drama Gehraiyaan, will make her Tollywood debut with the film. Liger also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, and Makrand Deshpande, among others, in crucial roles. Legendary boxer Mike Tyson will be seen in a cameo appearance in the biggie.
Sukumar, on the other hand, will soon be turning his attention to Pushpa: The Rule. It is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster of the same name and features Allu Arjun in the titular role. Pushpa 2 has a strong cast that includes Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Priyamani is said to be in talks to play a key role in the upcoming pan-India movie.
