What’s open, what’s closed on Labour Day in Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara Region

Local governments, Canada Post, and retail are pretty much taking the day off, but there are some exceptions.
The Labour Day long weekend is upon us featuring an annual holiday Monday that celebrates the achievements of workers.
Here’s a list of what’s open and closed in Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara Region on Sept. 4.
Administrative offices: Offices are closed on Monday.
ATS DARTS: Operating on holiday service hours on Monday. All subscription trips, except dialysis trips, are cancelled for Sept. 4. For more information check out the Hamilton.ca website.
Animal services: Closed on Monday. Tuesday, Sept. 5 – Open regular hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope: Open Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
GO Transit: Trains and buses are operating on a Saturday schedule.
Green bin, garbage and recycling: No collection on Monday. Pickup will be one day later if it falls on or after the holiday. The city says all materials must be at the curb by 7 a.m. Community recycling centres and transfer stations will be closed.
