Mrs Sri Lanka World 2020 Pushpika De Silva witnessed a rather embarassing moment on stage during the beauty pageant on Sunday in Colombo after the crown was snatched from her by Mrs Sri Lanka World 2019 Caroline Jurie. Chaos ensued on stage after Caroline snatched Pushpika’s crown and handed it over to the first runner-up. Nevertheless, the issue was sorted later and the crown was returned to Pushpika after two days. In between, though, Pushpika narrated her story in a post on Facebook, which has gone viral on social media. On stage, Carolina, moments after crowning Pushpika, said that the latter was disqualified since she is a divorcee and only married women can hold the title of Mrs Sri Lanka. In her post, Pushpika clarified, “I'm not a divorced woman. I say with great responsibility that I am not a divorced woman even at this moment of writing. If I was a divorcee, I would dare them to submit my divorce scripts.” Her post, translated from Sinhalese to English, reads, “My dear, loving, respectful, intelligent Sri Lanka and people of the world, I know you are expecting my response to the unexpected incident that happened. Even though I have a lot to say, I will post only the essential things here.”More Related News
