Ireland cricketers Paul Stirling and Shane Getkate have tested positive for Covid-19 and started a mandatory 10-day quarantine as the team prepares to face the West Indies. With the Ireland Men's squad due to depart Florida for Jamaica on Friday, a final round of PCR tests revealed two Irish players have tested positive for COVID.
Cricket Ireland said George Dockrell was a further concern but has subsequently been found to have registered a false positive. The players will likely re-join the squad in Jamaica around January 9, dependent upon subsequent PCR tests showing negative results.
