India captain Rohit Sharma was on a record-setting spree on Friday as he hit a solid 44-ball 64 against West Indies in the first T20I of a 5-match series at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. Rohit set two major records in the shortest format of the game as he led India from the front in the series opener.
Rohit brought up his 27th T20I fifty on July 29 even as he did not get a lot of support from his teammates in new-look batting order for India. By getting to the landmark, Rohit overtook former captain Virat Kohli on the list of batters with the most 50-plus scores in international cricket.
