West Indies vs India, 1st ODI: West Indies suffered a huge blow ahead of the series opener as all-rounder Jason Holder was ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19.
West Indies suffered a huge blow ahead of the first ODI of a 3-match series against India in Port of Spain, Trinidad as their former captain Jason Holder was ruled out due to Covid-19. Captain Nicholas Pooran confirmed on Friday, July 22 that Holder has tested positive for Covid-19.
West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first against India at the Queen's Park Oval in the first ODI.
"unfortunately Jason [Holder] has Covid so he misses out," Pooran said.
Meanwhile, India also missed their premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as the man, who was appointed as the vice-captain for the 3-match ODI series, was ruled out of the first 2 matches due to an injury to his right knee.
