WI vs IND, 3rd T20I: India lost the second match of the series by five wickets in St Kitts after starting with a 68-run victory at Brian Lara Stadium.
India and West Indies will cross swords in the third game of the five-match T20I series on Tuesday, August 2 at Warner Park in St Kitts.
India started their tour of the Caribbean by winning the ODI series 3-0, although they could easily have lost the first two matches. Thereafter, they beat Nicholas Pooran and Co. by 68 runs at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
However, the hosts rose like a phoenix from the ashes and won the second T20I on Monday by five wickets. With 10 runs needed in the last over, Devon Thomas took Avesh Khan apart and helped West Indies win the match with four balls to spare.
India, on the other hand, showed guts in the bowling department, but floundered with the bat. The Men in Blue will be looking to get back to winning ways after facing their maiden defeat on the ongoing tour.
Obed McCoy was the star of the show for the home team after he picked up a six-wicket haul to rattle the star-studded Indian batting. The third T20I, in the meantime, will start at 9:30PM IST and the decision was taken after the second T20I was delayed by two hours.
As per Accuweather, the playing conditions are expected to be challenging for cricketers of both teams. Temperatures will be around the 32-degree Celsius mark. The players need to stay hydrated, especially at 1PM in the afternoon when the weather will be the hottest.
The conditions will also be ‘extremely humid’ with the numbers in the mid and high-60s. Wind gusts of 32 km/h will be there and it could make life easier for the cricketers. Dew will be on the higher side, but it’s unlikely to play any significant part in the morning.
