WI vs IND, 2nd T20I: India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after winning the opening game by 68 runs at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
West Indies and India are set to lock horns in the second game of the five-match T20I series on Monday, August 1 at Warner Park in St Kitts.
India took a 1-0 lead in the series after beating the Caribbean team by 68 runs in the opening game on Friday at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
Dinesh Karthik became the Player of the Match for playing a handy cameo of 41* off 19 balls. It was Karthik’s knock that helped the Men in Blue score 190 after electing to bat first in decent batting conditions.
Rohit Sharma also chipped in with a 64-run knock with seven fours and one six. Alzarri Joseph was the most successful bowler for the West Indies with two wickets, but he leaked 46 runs at an economy rate of 11.50.
Akeal Hosein was also excellent, having picked up the crucial wicket of Suryakumar Yadav and conceding 14 runs at an economy rate of 3.50.
West Indies batters were inconsistent, to say the least, as seven of them failed to convert their starts after getting their eyes in.
Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets apiece for the visiting team. India restricted the Caribbean team to 122 for eight.
