A woman strangled her husband to death with the help of her daughter in the Parvatipur area of Howrah, West Bengal, on Wednesday.
The deceased, identified as Sheikh Salam ((55), was a gold shop owner.
On Wednesday night, his wife Sultana Begum called her neighbours and said that she and her daughter had gone out of the house and when they returned, they found Sheikh Salam lying dead on the bed.
A complaint was filed by the neighbours at the Domjur police station in this regard.
A police team reached the spot and started investigating. Sultana told the police that Sheikh was going to meet two people at their home and that is why he asked them to go out of the house for some time.
However, the police took both the women into custody on the basis of suspicion.
During the interrogation, both the mother and daughter confessed to their crime and told the police that they were unable to bear the physical torture inflicted on them by the deceased and so they decided to kill him.
