West Bengal Police questions officials in connection with coal smuggling case

West Bengal Crime Investigation Department is questioning several police officials in connection with the coal smuggling case.
The West Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) is conducting a parallel investigation in the coal smuggling case. The CID has summoned 10 officers of different police stations under West Bengal Police in connection with its probe.
On Friday, three inspectors appeared before the investigating officer of West Bengal CID.
CID source claimed that Inspector Dinesh Mondal, previously posted as Officer-in-Charge at Raniganj Police station and presently posted as Circle inspector of Bolpur; Inspector Sanjoy Chakraborty, previously posted as OC Andal Ps and Ranigan Ps, and currently posted as MPB, Kalingpong; and Promit Ganguly, previously posted as OC Raniganj and now posted in intelligence bureau of West Bengal police, appeared on Friday at Bhawani Bhawan, the headquarter of West Bengal police and CID.

A day before, three inspectors were questioned by the CID in connection with the coal smuggling case.
CID source claims Inspector Dibyendu Das, Inspector Anindya Dey, and Inspector Subrata Ghosh were asked to be appear at Bhawani Bhawan, Bengal police HQ for questioning. CID questioned these three inspectors of West Bengal police yesterday.
CID claims that all these officers were posted in the coal belt area of West Bengal in past. The investigating officers are probing whether the officials had any knowledge of the smuggling racket and whether they know anything about the accused involved in the case.
