A spring storm is bringing another blast of winter to the northeast as weather alerts across the northeast are upgraded to rainfall and snowfall warnings.

With the falling temperatures, rain turned to snow Wednesday morning and will continue into the evening.
Communities nears lakes Huron and Superior will mostly see rain with heavy wind gusts of up to 80 km/h while areas north of the Highway 17 corridor, including Greater Sudbury and Elliot Lake, will see more snow.
Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres are expected, particularly north of Sudbury and Elliot Lake, Environment Canada said in a weather alert.
"Peak snowfall rates of two to four cm/h," the alert said.
"For areas farther south along the Highway 17 corridor, including Greater Sudbury and Elliot Lake, precipitation may continue as a mix of rain and snow, with a changeover to all snow not likely until this evening. As a result, snowfall amounts in this corridor will likely be less."
