Two children have lost their lives and more than three lakh people have been affected in Assam due to the worsening flood situation. On the other hand, northern districts of Telangana have been put on alert as the India Meteorological Department(IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall for the region.
The flood situation in Assam continued to remain grim with two children losing their lives and over 3.63 lakh people suffering in the deluge across 17 districts, reported news agency PTI. Assam State Disaster Management Authority(ASDMA) officials were quoted by PTI as saying that one child each was washed away in floodwaters in Morigaon and Barpeta districts. Maharashtra: Due to a low-pressure area over western parts of Vidarbha, rainfall activity over Mumbai & its suburbs would continue during next 24 hours leading to moderate rain at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall (less than 15cm) at isolated places, as per IMD 31-08-2021; 0700 IST; Thunderatorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Jattari, Khair, Deboi, Narora, Shikarpur, Pahasu, Khurza(U.P), Tizara, Hodal, Aurangabad(Haryana), Viratnagar, Alwar (Raj.) during next 2 hours. pic.twitter.com/lsn1Ps7QH8 Lakhimpur remains the worst-affected district where more than one lakh people have been affected, followed by Majuli and Darrang. According to ASDMA, at least 950 villages have been badly hit and 30,333.36 hectares of crops have been damaged.More Related News
