Weather Updates LIVE: IMD predicts very heavy rainfall for Telangana; isolated showers expected in Kerala

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Telangana and its various districts and has predicted very heavy rainfall today. Meanwhile, isolated heavy rainfall has been predicted for Kerala and a yellow alert has been issued for few districts.

The deficiency in rainfall in two successive months has triggered fears of a below normal monsoon this year, the India Meteorological Department (IMD)has said. As per the IMD data, July recorded seven per cent less rainfall and rainfall in August has been deficient by 26 per cent. 30/08/2021: 08:20 IST; Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over Iglas, Hathras, Raya, Bulandshahar (U.P) and adjoining areas during the next 2 hours. The southwest monsoon has revived in Telangana and the weather department has predicted very heavy rainfall for Telangana today and has issued a yellow alert for various districts of the state. Heavy rains lashed various parts of Hyderabad on Sunday with Mallapur recording the highest rainfall of 36.8mm.
