The India Meteorological Department(IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall for Bihar and Uttar Pradesh today and the regional meteorological centre in Dehradun issued a landslide warning in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand.
The monsoon has caused excessive damage to a majority of states and Union Territories, with a series of cloudbursts and landslide incidents caused from torrential rainfall. Heavy rainfall led to major accidents such as house collapses and electrocution, thereby leading to scores of deaths in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and others. The IMD stated that fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand till August 27. Floods have wreaked havoc in Bihar and a total of twenty-six districts have been affected due to incessant rainfall.More Related News
