Weather Updates LIVE: IMD issues yellow alert for Maharashtra districts; heavy rainfall likely in Odisha and Bihar
India Today
The India Meteorological Department(IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the coastal districts of Maharashtra, predicting heavy rainfall for the next few days. Heavy showers are also expected to lash Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Several districts of Maharashtra received incessant rainfall in the third week of July, leading to a flood-like situation and landslides, following which the monsoonal activity witnessed a lull. In a fresh development, the India Meteorological Department(IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in many parts of Maharashtra over the next few days due to the formation of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, reported news agency PTI. The weather department has issued a yellow alert meaning 'heavy rainfall in isolated places' for Palghar, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri, all coastal areas, between August 16 and 18. Moderate rainfall has also been predicted in Mumbai with the possibility of occasional showers in isolated places in the next 24 hours.More Related News
