The recovery came at a time when the Enforcement Directorate has intensified action against an alleged arms racket in Jammu & Kashmir. Last month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized “incriminating” documents that allegedly pointed to a nexus between weapons dealers and Jammu and Kashmir government officials.
The financial probe agency conducted search operations at the premises of retired and serving bureaucrats, officials and weapons dealers across Jammu and Kashmir on March 24 in its investigation into the case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
