Amid the political crisis in Maharashtra, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has announced that the NCP will stand by CM Uddhav Thackeray.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday said that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will stand by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and CM Uddhav Thackeray amid the political crisis.
Addressing the media, Ajit Pawar said, "We will support MVA, we will support Uddhav Thackeray. Our [NCP] MLAs are with us. We are keeping an eye on the current political situation."
On allegations of corruption raised by the rebel camp led by Eknath Shinde, Pawar stated that the allegations are false and funds were provided to the ministers.
"There are MLAs of Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena in ministerial posts. Ministers were decided with the consent of all," Pawar claimed.
Responding to Sanjay Raut's statement on Shiv Sena leaving MVA, Pawar said, "It is the responsibility of all the three parties [NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena] to save the government. Only Sanjay Raut knows why he made such a statement."
Incidentally, CM Uddhav Thackeray has already said that he is ready to quit as CM if that is what the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs want.
In an address on Wednesday, the Sena chief said, "I am preparing my resignation letter. Whoever has rebelled should come here, take this letter and submit it to the Governor."
