Doha: Facebook and its Instagram and WhatsApp platforms were down in parts of the world including Qatar on Monday. The company said it was "aware that some people are having trouble accessing Facebook app” and it was working on restoring access. The company did not say what might be causing the outage, which began around 11:45 ET. It is normal for websites and apps to suffer outages, though one on a global scale is rare. “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Facebook said on Twitter. “Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it!,” Instagram tweeted.
