WCD minister, DCW chief find children huddled up in cramped rooms at shelter home, order action

Women and Child Development (WCD) minister Rajendra Pal Gautam and Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) conducted a surprise check at a shelter home on Monday.

Women and Child Development (WCD) minister Rajendra Pal Gautam and Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal conducted a surprise inspection of a private shelter home in Kamla Nagar and observed several issues therein. Seventy-eight children were huddled up in small rooms of a shelter home, which hardly had the space to accommodate them. Worse, the home was closed from all sides, giving it the appearance of a jail.
