Smriti Mandhana will join her third Women's Big Bash League franchise as the star India opener has signed up for defending champions Sydney Thunder. Deepti Sharma has been signed as a replacement for England captain Heather Knight.
India's star opener Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma were signed by defending champions Syndey Thunder for the 6th edition of Women's Big Bash League, starting in October. It will be Smriti's 2nd team as she had played for Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat in the past. Deepti will be featuring in the premier Women's T20 competition for the first time in her career.
Both Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma are in Australia as part of the Indian team's ongoing tour and will stay back for the franchise league, starting October 14.
