Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 140.35 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 1,817 cusecs and a discharge of 300 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 69.59 ft. (71 ft.) with an inflow of 1,961 cusecs and a discharge of 2,599 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 9,792 mcft.
Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Friday was (in mm): Thekkadi 8.4, Madurai 5.4, Shanmuganadhi dam, Viraganur and Veerapandi 4 each, Gudalur 3.2, Mullaperiyar dam and Thaniyamangalam 3 each, Marudhanadhi dam 2.8, Uthamapalayam 2.4, Kodaikanal 2.2, Manjalar dam 1.4 and Sothupparai dam 1.
