Water level in Periyar dam on Monday stood at 128.60 feet (maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 1,561 cusecs and a discharge of 1,300 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 56.17 ft. (71 ft.) with an inflow of 1,144 cusecs and a discharge of 1,119 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 5,929 mcft.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department.
