Farmers in many parts of Haryana have said they won't allow events by the ruling BJP and its leaders while they protest against the farm laws
Over a thousand farmers - shouting slogans and waving flags in protest against the controversial farm laws - gathered outside Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar's residence Saturday morning, and announced their intention to mount an overnight vigil.
Visuals from the area show the farmers standing on top of a pile of yellow police barricades and shouting angrily, while a handful of security forces in riot gear look on.
The protesting farmers were also briefly doused with water cannons by Haryana Police, who have been deployed in large numbers at the spot.
Visuals of water cannons being used show a powerful jet of water being fired at the protestors, some of whom tried to get up on their vehicles to escape. Tear gas vehicles have also been deployed.
