Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman received praise for her kind gesture during an NSDL event in Mumbai. Here's what happened.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman received praise as she got up from her seat at an event and offered a bottle of water to the managing director of National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), Padmaja Chunduru, who was speaking at that time.
In a video that has since gone viral, Padmaja Chunduru paused amid her speech and asked the hotel staff for water. She resumed her speech, apologising for the break. Then Nirmala Sitharaman got up from her seat and gave her a bottle of water.

NSDL MD thanked the finance minister for the kind gesture and continued with her address amid applause from the crowd.
The event was held in Mumbai on Saturday on the occasion of the silver jubilee of NSDL. Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the event and launched the NSDL investor awareness programme for students - Market ka Eklavya. A postage stamp and cover commemorating NSDL's 25-year-long journey was also launched at the event.
