ENG vs IND, 1st ODI: Jasprit Bumrah picked up 4 wickets in his first spell. He also dismissed Jason Roy and Joe Root for ducks at the Kennington Oval in London.
Former batter Wasim Jaffer heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah after the latter picked up four wickets in his opening spell in the opening ODI against England at the Kennington Oval in London. Bumrah caused mayhem in his very first over after Rohit Sharma won the toss and sent the Three Lions to bat first.
Bumrah struck in his very first over as he got rid of Jason Roy and Joe Root in quick succession. Both Roy and Root failed to open his account. Root, who was in brilliant form, having scored a century in the fifth Test, couldn’t gauge an out-swinger from Bumrah. Rishabh Pant took an impressive catch behind the stumps.
Thereafter, Bumrah accounted for the all-important wicket of Jonny Bairstow, who scored seven runs off 20 balls before edging one to Pant. Bumrah didn’t stop there and castled Liam Livingstone around the legs. Livingstone tried to hit Bumrah through the leg-side, but missed the line of the ball completely.
Jaffer took to Twitter and wrote, "Alexa, please play Jasprit Bumrah" "Sorry, Jasprit Bumrah is unplayable"
