Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer has claimed that Virat Kohli will retain his No.3 spot in the team for the T20 World Cup.
Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer has claimed that Virat Kohli will retain his No.3 spot in the team for the T20 World Cup in December.
Kohli's struggles in international cricket have been well-documented as the star batter hasn't scored a hundred since 2019. The former India captain couldn't do anything of impact during the tour of England and was given rest for the ongoing West Indies tour and the ODI series against Zimbabwe.
With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, many have questioned Kohli's position in the team for the format. However, Jaffer feels that the Indian star will retain his position in the team as the No.3 batter.
During the audio session of ‘CricChat Powered by Parimatch’ on the Sharechat app, the former cricketer talked about the team for the World Cup and said Kohli will retain his spot in the side while KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma should open for India during the World Cup.
Jaffer also said that players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan can contribute to the team's cause and commented that he likes the aggressive approach India has taken at the moment.
The former cricketer also said that India's chances of winning the T20 World Cup are bright.
“Virat will remain in his original No. 3 place in the team. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma should open, and other players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan can contribute significantly to the squad. I feel that the aggressive approach that India has undertaken is very nice to witness. India’s chances of winning (T20 World Cup) are bright," said Wasim Jaffer.
