Wasim Jaffer, Amol Mazumdar among 9 applicants for Mumbai head coach role after Ramesh Powar exit

The Mumbai Cricket Association had called for applications for the head coach role after former coach Ramesh Powar left the role following his appointment with the India women's team. Wasim Jaffer is among the 9 applicants for the post.
Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has applied for the role of Mumbai head coach along with domestic stalwart Amol Mazumdar and former leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule. The post was vacated by Ramesh Powar who was appointed as the head coach of the senior national women's team earlier this month. A total of 9 candidates applied for the Mumbai head coach post before the May 24 deadline. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had last week sought applications with eligibility criteria of minimum 50 first-class matches after Powar had to leave role. Former India pacer Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a member of the 1983 World Cup Winning India team, has also applied for the post. It is understood that among others who have applied are former keeper-batsman Sulkashan Kulkarni, pacer Pradeep Sunderram, Nandan Phadnis, Umesh Patwal and Vinod Raghvan.More Related News
