Washington Sundar said that he was very happy to play alongside his U-19 World Cup teammates Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant and heaped rich praise on both young southpaws.

India spinner Washington Sundar lauded his under-19 teammates Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan for their supreme show with the bat and said that he was delighted to play alongside the two young southpaws. Notably, Ishan Kishan led the Indian side in the U19 World Cup in 2016 as Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar played under his captainship. Kishan repaid the faith of the selectors and team management by making an impact in his first International match, scoring 56 off just 32 balls with 5 fours and 4 towering sixes while Pant has been in a rich vein of form since the Border Gavaskar series in January 2021.
