The Washington Post's Monica Hesse will be getting a new role as the paper is set to scrap her role as a "gender columnist," Fox News Digital has learned.
Hesse, currently a columnist for the paper's Style section, is expected to be reassigned either to its Opinions section or remain in Style as a reporter, the sources added. Joseph A. Wulfsohn is a media reporter for Fox News Digital. Story tips can be sent to joseph.wulfsohn@fox.com and on Twitter: @JosephWulfsohn.
"It's sad and so unnecessary," one source told Fox News Digital.
Neither Hesse nor The Washington Post responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
