Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today said cases were "exploding dangerously" in the state and "the war has begun again", as he addressed people of the state on the unprecedented surge in Covid infections. "Last year on Gudi Padwa we had hoped for a corona-free festival this year...But now the war has begun again. And this time the cases are exploding dangerously," Mr Thackeray said. He took to X to share his distress, describing the situation as "painful to watch" especially since he was in the US and unable to personally intervene.
Chief Minister M K Stalin chaired a high-level meeting here at the Secretariat to review the precautionary measures and rushed NDRF and State teams to Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagappatinam and Cuddalore districts.
