
VYAPAM Scam: CBI convicts 6 people from MP, sentence them to five years of imprisonment

Around six accused have been held and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment along with a fine for involvement in cheating and impersonating another candidate in a Pre-Medical Entrance Test, conducted in 2010.
The Special Judges Bench (CBI) of the district court, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, convicted 6 people and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 3,700 for involvement in cheating and impersonating another candidate in a Pre Medical Entrance Test dating back to 2010 by Madhya Pradesh VYAPAM.
A case had been registered by the local police upon the request of the Centre Superintendent against the two impersonators, namely Mohd. Imran and Rajesh Prasad to appear in place of candidates in the Pre-Medical Test at Govt. PG College, Guna, Madhya Pradesh in 2010. Further investigation by local police and CBI then led to the arrest of 4 more people, of which 2 were the candidates who sought proxy candidates and the other two were the middlemen who had arranged for it.
