
Vivek Agnihotri mocks Leena Manimekalai as she calls Goddess Kaali queer

Vivek Agnihotri took a dig at independent filmmaker Leena Manimekalai over Kaali poster controversy. The Kashmir Files director called her 'crazy woke.'
Director Leena Manimekalai courted controversy when she shared a poster of her upcoming documentary titled Kaali. The poster of the film shows Goddess Kaali smoking a cigarette. Recently, Vivek Agnihotri took a dig at the independent filmmaker over the Kaali poster controversy. The Kashmir Files director reshared Leena's interview to a publication and called her 'crazy woke.'
After the poster controversy blew up, multiple cases have been filed against Leena Manimekalai in different states in India. She has been charged with promoting enemity between different communities on grounds of religion, outraging religious feelings intentionally and intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace.
On July 11, Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter to lash out at Leena Manimekalai. He retweeted an interview of hers in which she called Kaali a 'queer' and 'free spirit'. With a series of emojis, Vivek Agnihotri wrote, "Can someone dismantle such crazy wokes? Please (sic)."

In an interview to a publication, Leena Manimekalai said, "My Kaali is queer. She is a free spirit. She spits at the patriarchy. She dismantles Hindutva. She destroys capitalism, She embraces everyone with all her thousand hands.”
Leena Manimekalai reacted to the backlash she received. Taking to Twitter, she also responded to the multiple cases that were filed against her.
