
Vivek Agnihotri hosts special screening of The Kashmir Files in Jammu for politicians and Army Officers

Vivek Agnihotri and the makers of The Kashmir Files recently hosted a special screening of the film in Jammu, a week ahead of its release. Army Officers, politicians and Kashmiri Pandits were invited for the special screening.
The Kashmir Files is all set to release on March 11. Ahead of that, the makers of the film hosted a special screening of the exodus drama at Ground Zero in Jammu. Helmed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files is based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits and is inspired by true events. It stars Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty in the lead roles. The makers had invited influential personalities, politicians, Army Officers and known Kashmiri Pandits for the special screening of The Kashmir Files in Jammu.
The Kashmir File releases on March 11, 2022, in theatres. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on January 26, 2022, in theatres, was pushed due to the rising Covid-19 cases. The special screening of the film, which was held in Jammu for the politicians, Army Officers and Kashmiri pandits, was met with a huge response, recognition and admiration. Post the screening, the makers interacted with every individual present there and took their feedback on the tragic story. The guests present there were moved by the narrative and plight of Kashmiri pandits after watching the film. They also praised Vivek Agnihotri’s vision and guts to make a film on such a challenging and unspoken subject.

The Kashmir Files is based on the life of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir insurgency. It is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community. It’s a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity. The Kashmir Files is scheduled to release in theatres on March 11, 2022.
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is bankrolled by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners. The ensemble cast comprises Mithun Chakraborty as Brahma Dutt, Anupam Kher as Pushkarnath, Darshan Kumar as Krishna Pandit, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Bhasha Sumbali as Shraddha Pandit, Chinmay Mandlekar as Farooq Malik aka Bitta (Inspired by Farooq Ahmed Dar), Puneet Issar as DGP Hari Narain.
