Vistara airlines have been slapped with a fine of Rs 10 lakh for giving take-off and landing clearance to first officers without training.
Vistara airlines have been hit with a fine of Rs 10 lakh by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for giving take-off and landing clearance to first officers without training.
Training is supposed to be conducted for the first officers to help them land an aircraft in the simulator before they can do it in the aircraft with passengers on board.

In the same way, a captain is also trained in a simulator before he/she can ask a first officer to land.
A Vistara aircraft was being landed by a first officer without the captain and the first officer trained was not trained in the simulator.
As this was a serious violation endangering the lives of the passengers on board, a Rs 10 lakh penalty has been levied on the airlines for the said lapse. This was detected during a landing in Indore.
