Former India opener Virender Sehwag said Yuzvendra Chahal's allegations are serious and it's important to know if the authorities took action against the player who the leg-spinner alleged dangled him from the balcony of the 15th floor of a team hotel in Bengaluru.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag has echoed the voice of a major section of cricket fans who urged Yuzvendra Chahal to name the player who bullied him during a post-match Indian Premier League (IPL) party in 2013. Sehwag said the spine-chilling incident can't be treated as fun and it's important to know what action was taken against the player in question.
Yuzvendra Chahal, in a shocking revelation, said he was dangled from the balcony on the 15th floor of a hotel when he was playing with Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Chahal did not name the player but said the cricketer was 'drunk', adding the near-death experience taught him a valuable lesson.
Sehwag took to social media and said it's important to expose the identity of the player.
"Important to reveal name of player who as per Chahal did this to him in a drunk state. If true, this cannot be treated as fun, important to know what happened and what action was taken considering the seriousness of this," Sehwag said in his post.

Several cricket fans, responding to a Rajasthan Royals video in which Chahal made the allegations, wondered if any action at all was taken against the player in 2013. Chahal himself said he had not spoken much about the incident in the past.
"This was from 2013 when I was with Mumbai Indians. We had a match in Bengaluru. There was a get-together after that. So there was a player who was very drunk, I won't say his name. He was very drunk, he was looking at me for a long time and he just called me and he took me outside and he hung me from the balcony," Chahal told the Royals.
